Soil drenches / soil injections / bark sprays are used in larger trees that cannot be completely sprayed with insecticidal soaps or foliage insecticides.

If you take this route, pesticides applied by soil injection and soil drenching will do less damage to your trees than pesticides applied by stem injection or implantation.
